Job Summary:
The role of an Architectural Staff Level I is someone who contributes and assists in producing project deliverables and develops design and technical solutions. This contribution requires the application of standard techniques and knowledge to advance projects while working independently with guidance. They are eager to learn and innovate. This individual anticipates job/project expectations and needs while performing design and technical tasks requiring application of BDE and industry standard techniques and knowledge.
Duties | Responsibilities:
- Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs and phases for projects of moderate size and complexity.
- Has a general understanding of all conventional aspects of architecture.
- Create and develop conceptual and technical design ideas.
- Identify and propose technical solutions to design challenges.
- Contributes to the production of 3D models using a range of 3D modeling software(s).
- Produces accurate documents aligned with firm and industry standards for project assignments.
- Performs design layouts, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work.
- Communicate the progress of assignments to Project Team, Project Manager(s) and other supervisor(s) according to the established project schedule and workplan.
- Ensure project information is incorporated into project documents.
- Reviews project specifications, reports, and drawings.
- Compiles and analyzes relevant project data.
- Reviews Consultant’s drawings and/or accompanying Consultant information; coordinates architectural drawings accordingly.
- Performs other tasks as requested by supervisor(s).
Required Skills | Abilities:
- On the path to Architectural Registration and licensure.
- Knowledge of architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling required.
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
- Working knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
- Working knowledge of building codes.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally verbally and in writing.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills imperative.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and/or with a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Education | Experience:
- Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
- A further developed understanding of technical knowledge in architectural drafting and design.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Experience with multifamily housing a plus.
